Nice little bridge, marked with signs to say that it is private property but that doesn't seem to stop loads of people sitting on it for pictures they can upload to FaceBook! Interesting to see a bridge without handrails.

We took a little detour to have a look at this bridge as it is 1 of 2 left in Venice with no handrail.

Yep, an odd looking thing in this city of bridges. A little bridge that leads to someone's front door. It kind of hides behind another bridge as you approach it so you may think you have taken the wrong turning.

The Ponte Chiodo or the Nail Bridge is unique and typical of stone bridges that existed in the 1700, it is the only bridge in Venice that has no sides, other similar bridges had railings added over time. The name of the bridge comes from...More

Ponte del Chiodo is one of the only two bridges left in Venice without a handrail and this thing can be very dangerous especially at night. Being located in the beautiful and quiet Cannaregio, the bridge blends perfectly with the architectural buildings around.

Strange to appreciate a small bridge in Venezia, especially when it apparently just leads to a private house. But it is without the railings and show how all bridges used to be in old days. Looks scary, but I guess it is easy to get...More

I wouldn't spend hours trying to find this as there are plenty of other things to see in Venice. Because at the end of the day, it is just a small bridge and you could be spending the time in St Marks Basilica!

Very thin nice little bridge, you'll end up running into this bridge while exploring so you'll be sure to see it.

If you wonder around the Cannaregio district then you may come across this bridge. It is unusual as it has no railings.

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)

for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
