This collection of surrealism and abstract expressionism is extensive and the relatively small space adds an intimacy to many of the works which can be lost in larger spaces. I went on a Monday in January and could comfortably move within the space and take...More

This gallery is quite small but beautifully located and there is a small courtyard sculpture garden. There is a permanent and temporary exhibition space with some top artworks by famous modernist artists. It’s not that big though so check you like what you’re going to...More

We made the effort to walk to the museum specifically and we were rewarded with a very substantial collection of modern art from some very famous artists. For those who are interested in modern Art this comprehensive museum is well worth the visit. There were...More

Just.....go! Wonderful range of modern art (paintings; drawing/sketches; sculptures; etc) mainly across the later 20th Century. All laid out in a Main Exhibition area and the gardens. Currently there’s a special Osvaldo Licini exhibition on as well - which was also marvellous - but that...More

What an amazing, accessible place. An exemplary collection of modern art in Peggy’s former home. A must do and must see for young an old. Our three young children recognised art pieces studied in school. Truely memorable.

We liked the works of art more than expected. Lots of Miro, Ernst (her husband). Really enjoyed photos of the works in context in Peggy's home, please do seek out those photos in the museum because it adds to the experience of the works. The...More

This is one of the most exquisite collections of art I have had the privilege to see. It knocks The Getty, MOMA, Chicago and the Hermitage into a cocked hat. There is something magical about the garden, the view over the Grande Canal, wall after...More

Great selection of modern art. The Lincini exhibition was interesting. We had a free talk given by an art student about Peggy Guggenheim which was very good. A bonus is the view of the Grand Canal from the gallery.

My wife and I visited The Peggy Guggenheim Museum whilst in Venice in December, the museum is small and spread across 3 small buildings with a nice courtyard in between. The history surrounding the Guggenheim Family is very interesting but the art work speaks for...More

Penny Guggenheim collected weird and wonderful modern art. Her former house is now a museum to show off her collection. To be honest I spent more time looking at the Grand Canal from her front terrace than I did looking at her pictures. She lived...More

Hi Cary The Museum was a home so it's not very large and probably could be done in around an hour. That said, if you want to spend a bit of time looking at the works more closely you shoud allow longer. My wife is very into... More
