About
Our little Italian gastronomic specialty shop "Prosciutto e Parmigiano" is located between the Rialto bridge and Piazza San Marco, very close to Santa Maria Formosa bell tower. If you want to try genuine Italian taste and bring it back with you, the shop is a necessary step during your trip in Venice! Take-away service is available, provided with little dishes in order to let you taste our products while you are walking through the Venetian calli: wide selection of cheeses, cold cuts, hams, buffalo milk mozzarella and so on...

Neighbourhood: Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

We took a bottle of wine and some glasses. The lovely man in the shop supplied the rest - perfectly cut meats, cheese and olives on a plate with cutlery and napkins. All for €5 each person.

We simply asked for a selection of meats and cheese for all of us and he chose and wrapped it up. We sat nearby and ate very happily the most delicious meat and cheese assortment. We looked on in sympathy at the people getting their pizzas next door as we thought what a wonderful banquet we were having compared to pizza.

The man serving was so pleasant and friendly. We wanted to rush back for lunch the next day and I hope we do. Highly recommended way to eat cheaply and well in Venice.

If you want to bring a piece of Italy to your family and friends this shop is the best. Quality products and the best cheese selection. The best part about this entire shop is that you can bring back anything to the United States from this store. The owner, one of Venezias finest men!

Situated just next to a bridge on a quiet & small canal, this is a fab place to get a quick snack & glass of wine on the hoof, or even better get some authentic cured meat and cheese packaged & sent back home.

We opted to do the former, & for €15, we got a great little plate made up of meats & cheeses as well as a little glass of locally produced red wine each. A cracking little snack to enjoy sitting watching on the edge of the canal watching the world go by.

We found this place in search of some ingredients to make a nice picnic, the man in the shop was so helpful and even gave us some samples of cheeses to try first. We ended up buying an amazing selection of meat and different cheeses and olives and were given a free jar of onion chutney to go with it. I was very suprised at how inexpensive it was too. We bought some bread from a shop aroundvthe corner and went and had our picnic in Giardini della Biennale.

We took a previous suggestion on trip advisor and went to Prosciutto E Parmigiano to get some meats and cheeses to make our own sandwiches (the bakery down the street for bread) and sit down by the water. They were extremely helpful and suggested the best for our tastes and even gave us a 'burrata' on the house which we devoured. (Even gave our dog a little sample too!) We returned a few nights later for a selection of meats and cheeses (and loaded up on burrata) for a light dinner at our apartment.

Wish we could of packaged everything and brought it home with us, we were in heaven!!

Buy your cheese and prosciutto here before leaving Venice! They will seal it for you, and it is in any case cheaper than buying at the airport. Excellent quality.

This place is fantastic and a total non-tourist gem!!! The owners are super helpful and will prepare a lunch plate of meats and cheeses for 2 people for only 15€! You can buy wine as well, they suggested a nice bottle of Verone wine for 10€!!! They will open it and provide glasses for you to drink to accompany your picnic. Since it's a take away establishment right nearby there are two bridges and some steps on the side of the canal to sit and enjoy your lunch!! If you can't tell we really liked this place, my wife and I highly recommend!

I visited this place based on TripAdvisor recommendations, and also the discovery that it was a short distance from my hotel. I wanted a quick, budget-friendly option for lunch, and this was a great choice. I ordered the small plate - assorted meats and cheeses with some crunchy breadsticks - and it was delicious. I left it to the person behind the counter to select the meats and cheeses, and she chose a good variety of things for me to try. There's no place to sit and eat, so this is really a takeaway option - I took mine back to my hotel room for a quiet lunch, with a few chunks of cheese leftover for a late-night snack.

A fantastic selection of delicious cheeses and meats. They let you taste everything before you buy, and it's all very affordable. They also vacuum seal for transportation. On top of that, the service is incredibly friendly and helpful. We bought some cheese and meat and brought our own wine to a canal and had a lovely evening in Venice.
