Wine & Food Experience in the Historic Market of Padua

The Market of Padua is in the centre of the city, in a great building called Palazzo della Ragione, built in 1218. The upper floor, called Il Salone, is a great hall, one of the largest medieval halls of the world (entrance ticket included). On the ground floor of the Salone, the so called “Sotto il Salone”, are hosted various delicatessen shops where you can find all sort of local specialties.
The Mini-Tasting Tours are itinerant menus across the shops of Sotto il Salone. You can choose among many different menus according to your preferences. Tasting menu example: 1 Glass of wine, 1 Tasting of Mountain Cottage Cheese, 1 Sorana-Carpaccio (Young Beef carpaccio) with chunks of Parmesan cheese.

Upon confirmation of booking you will receive the menu for choosing your tasting itinerary. You will then receive the voucher by e-mail. With the voucher you can go to the first shop for the tasting and you will receive the ticket to visit the painted room. Then you can move on to the other shops for other tastings. The tour does not include accompanying guides but is autonomous.
During the tasting tour it'll be the local shopkeepers who will tell and explain you about their dishes and about the typical local food and drinks.

Loggia Amulea is a neo-Gothic building that sits on the Northwestern corner of Prato della Valle. Its elegant arcades (ground floor and the floor above) harbor lovely statues, which seem to correspond to a number of similarly-sized statues that stand across the street on the outskirts of Prato. The facade, made of reddish brick, is elaborately decorated. The top of the facade appears like a fine lattice that adds to the elegance of the building. The building was built in 1859 and named after cardinal Antonio da Mula, hence Amuleo. Today, it houses city offices, although until 1989 it housed the local fire department.
