The little square is the heart of Orta. The square faces the lake with all the boats to reach the S. Giulio island. The square is small and on Sunday can be very crowded but even full of people is simply fantastic

After walking through the beautiful streets and shops, we came to the main square for something to eat. They have coffee shops and a few restaurants to choose from. It was a lovely sunny day and it was a beautiful visit

I was surprised just how busy the town and main square/piazza were - an indication was the packed car parks as you head down into the town. The square is a hive of activity with ferry jetties, restaurants, ice cream parlours and alleys leading up...More

Orta and its piazza are a very romantic places. Hidding in lago d'Orta, I found that this village was more quiet compared to the cities on lake Maggiore. Nevertheless it was very nice to discover and to visit it, even if in one hour you...More
