The vieuw was nice, but could only see the rear sides. not the piazza side during the renovations.We went up with the stairs which is only a 10 min walk

If I had another day in Milan, I probably wouldn't have gone up on the roof in the rain! However the roof wasn't slippery. After going back down in the other lift, you are free to explore inside.

Buy the fast track lift ticket to go up and explore the entire roof. Lots of people up there and lots of walking. Relax and take in the amazing views. When you walk down you’ll be in the Duomo

Easy to get there, be cause You can take both elevator or stairs. You have to pay a ticket. Amasing to walk between the statues and decorations of the Duomo. Very nice view. No problem even If you soffer of dizziness

No i actually just bought it on the day. Next to The Duomo there is the ticket office and they have some machines that are easy and faster than waiting in line for the tickets :)
