Situated in Porta Nuovo the richest district in any city in Europe. The countries tallest sky scraper is situated here . Also not to be missed a pair of residential towers , Bosco Verticale , which have over 900 trees growing on the balconies.
If you are looking to explore Milan's modern part, this is the place for you. We visited in the evening. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed taking a stroll through shops and restaurants. In the heart of the plaza lay a beautiful fountain surrounded...More
It was nice to see a different kind of architecture. This area is full of glass buildings, shopping malls and has a beautiful fountain there. During the night it shines in different colors and it is kind of romantic. During the day you can see...More
Interesting walk from the ancient architecture into an area of modern skyscrapers, separated by a gate. Skyscrapers are common in cities, but still feels pretty unreal to see them in a city like Milan.
Our guide shared that this used to be abandoned, unused land....More
A modern take on the classic Italian piazza. The circular square with water features is surrounded by eye-catching sky scrapers that define the skyline of Milan. Below ground there is a food court, with a large supermarket as well. Very practical to have in the...More
Well worth the walk here. Milan is building this out to be their version of New York's Highline.
This Piazza is at the end of the walk, many restaurants, shops and the gateway into the Como and Garibaldi area.
For those looking for a break from tourist enclaves, hop on the metro and visit Piazza Gae Aulenti. It's where old and new meet, in my mind. The piazza has many mid-to-high end shopping options, wonderful modern architecture all around, and a very easy walk...More
A thing to see , very nice place connecting the old and the new in the north of the city, basically a shopping mall with high rise buildings around. The works are under construction but it promises to be the highlight of the city.
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the
terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
