Cute little side street with a small canal near the Naviglio Grande. It's not exceptional but a curiosity, as you can still see the stones where the laundry was done in the old times. All the area is worth the visit and worth a nice...More

The canals are a lovely stroll and this small cul-de-sac has a small stream running to it's side and some vintage style houses. There was a bit of building work going on at the bottom of the turning and overall it wasn't that impressive.

When you are in Navigli or Ticinese (what I highly recommend), try to find Vicolo dei Lavandai. It's nice hidden place - old laundry place.

Its a gem. A piece of old Milan still intact and not re-made for tourist. A real jump on the past. Real people, milanesi (i,e, native) are living there and still speaking the local dialect

Words are not worth anyone's inner emotion. For any Milan-born person this is simply the place where you feel to walk thruough the alleys of Milan in the XIX century. Just need to read Alessandro Manzoni's "The Betrothed" before to go...

This is a characteristic corner on a small opening along Naviglio Grande. It used to be the washhouse.... The spot is nice for pictures, only if not too crowded.... Definitely worthy a quick stop. Some ateliers are in the alleys close by.

Vicolo dei Lavandai was the place where people washed their clothes. It was raining and we just took a quick look. It is a great place to spend 10 minutes to take a few pictures.

The Vicolo dei Lavandai is one of the most picturesque spots along the colorful Naviglio Grande canal. It's name means "Washermen's Alley", and that's exactly what it was. The slanted slab stones over which the washermen and women used to scrub and rinse the laundry...More

Great place to take some pictures in Navigli District. Is something else and is on the walk way trough the district. In the proximity there are some restaurants where you can enjoy the view.

This little street is really interesting to see because it still has the original stones where the washerwomen, 'lavandai', used to work. Down the street there are also some art and photography studios which are interesting to go and have a look at, free of...More

Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient
days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar
to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the
Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are
two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande.
The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk
with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes
in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns
