As Christophe Columbus was born in Genua, not faraway from Rapallo, we can admire a nice monument on his honour; He was an Italian man and was familiarized with the sea and in year 1492 he discovered America. "Columbus, Admiral of the Sea".

Asking along the sea you can't help but notice this magnificent statue pointing the way . I always tell people he is pointing the way to my home . A very interesting monument that I'm sure you will find .

Having come to Rapallo from Genoa, we had already seen a major Christopher Columbus statue. That didn't take anything away from this one. It is a lovely display--just wish we could have read the plaque. It's on the red carpet path, so you can't miss...More

Statue of Columbus. Interesting even if not exceptional. We passed it on our way and from our hotel.

This is a cool monument that honors the explorer and navigator Christopher Columbus. He was from Genoa (which is not that far away), and they have done a nice job with the design of this...that has him looking out toward the sea. This is right...More

We happened upon this monument on a stroll through the Arapaho waterfront park: it's Columbus! The whole waterfront is worth a stroll and it includes this familiar US/Italian hero.

It is located fairly near the main train station, on a small "park" surrounded by busy traffic. It is difficult to get a perspective of the statue to Columbus from the base. But we were still happy to see it as one of the key...More

Dear old Cristoforo has a lot of monuments around the world. They are pretty much the same. The only thing I don't like about this one is the parking place around it. If you're here in busy hours you'll harldy take a nice pict.

This little monument is right near the pier where cruise ship tourists will be dropped off for cruise tours. The seafront area is beautiful with several small monuments like this, shopping and restaurants. Worth stopping by for a few minutes.

I discovered this during the weekly market near the end of the market . The sun was not in the right position to get good photos of it and the market in the background didn't make for a good photo either . It seemed rather...More
