We decided to stay a whole day in Portovenere and it was the best choice we could take. We visitwd Doria Castle and we made 400 pictures with the view from it 😁

This viewing tower is challenging to find and is accessed via back streets and steep stairs. From the ticket office there was another steep staircase that led to the top of the castle. It was no surprise that it offered wonderful views over Vernazza and...More

Lovely view over Vernazza from the top, definitely worth the walk and small entrance fee. Not suitable for anyone who has difficulty walking.

Not much to do but hike up to the top. The entrance fee is minimal (cash only) but the views were worth it!

My son and his fiance had their destination wedding here. Wonderful staff did a great job and took care of every need. Food was very good (the Castle Restaurant) and the view is amazing.

This is a very nice place to get a birds eye view of the entire town of Vernazza. There are many steps to go up including a spiral staircase but it is worth it. It costs 1.50 euros to go all the way up to...More

After climbing several stories of stairs, THEN there is a sign asking for 1.5 Euros. The stairs both to the tower and the spiral staircase in the tower were not difficult but the people were difficult with the hesitations and all the baggage that they...More
