Admission is 1 euro and you purchase your ticket from a vending machine outside of the battistero. Signage is in both Italian and English. Again, the mosaic tile work is amazing and well with the price of admission.

Here the style has moved towards the more rigid and symbolic style of Byzantium. Christ is represented naked for the first time.

There is not much to see, but the ceiling was brilliant. I made reference to the bland exterior of this building contrasted by the sumptuous interior decoration of this building when I taught art history, so it was quite thrilling to view it in person....More

The iconography shows Byzantine and late roman influence. The Baptism of Christ and floral decoration tells us about Roman art. Enjoy a step into a world that does not exist.

Great place to see some beautiful mosaics. Since it is smaller you can really see the detail even on the ceiling. Worth visiting. Included in the common fee for the in town sights.

Small and intimate place to see Mosaics in Ravenna. We found it much more spiritual than the larger churches.

This one is not on the combined ticket and costs I think 1 euro, which you do via a machine. There was an attendant there to assist. I was the only one in there. This one's mosaic looks very similar to the Neon Baptistry, however,...More
