See title of review. This is one of the top sites in Parma and a trip to the city would be incomplete without checking it out.Tickets for the Cathedral provide entrance to two other sites if I remember correctly.

The building has a long history and looks like so. Getting into it, I recognized I was wrong. It is gorgeous and beautiful, especially drawing on the ceiling, "Santa Maria Assunta". Worth to see.

This is a very old and beautiful cathedral. Everything inside is painted or have decoration. Frescos are from the life of Jesús

Once inside you can marvel at the beauty of the church. A must see in Parma and the Theatre Farnesse

This was one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen anywhere. The ceilings are so gorgeous. Each alcove is different and perfection.

Lots of beautiful art paintings which must have taken many years to complete. Quiet and restful. The pulpit was very artistic.

Situated on the Piazza Duomo, this cathedral is understated from the outside - just a couple of lion statues and an ornate porch, but inside it is typical of other large Italian cathedrals: Incredibly ornate with stunning frescoes on the walls and in the domes...More

I don't know the significance of the lions but their presence is a quiet stoic simple entrance piece belying the beauty and ornateness inside. Go inside and sit quietly, admiring the majestic interior.

The outside of this enourmous building is less spectacular than other great Italian cathedrals, but the inside of the church contains impressive paintings all over the walls from top to bottom. Plus all different chapels on the side. Worth a visit!
