The outside of this enourmous building is less spectacular than other great Italian cathedrals, but the inside of the church contains impressive paintings all over the walls from top to bottom. Plus all different chapels on the side. Worth a visit!

We expected Parma Cathedral to be a gem but it vastly exceeded our expectations. The white facade completed in 1178, three loggia floors and three portals, elaborate doors, the belfry of 15th century look like they were built yesterday. And the opulent interior with amazing...More

The most notable features about this cathedral are the wonderfully painted walls and ceiling. Entry is free.

This cathedral is an amazingly decorated space, leading up to steps to the altar. As there are no permanent pews this is able to maje a full impact. The cathedral is also full of many treasures, including a superb 12th century carved marble relief.

While the exterior of the duomo is arresting, the interior is astounding. The overall cohesive scheme of the frescoes make this unique. The two ranks of frescoes under the celestroy were amazing along with the many, may others throughout.

Beatiful elegant and majestic rich for the internal decoration with impressive frescoes. Extremely impressive and beatiful the christening church aside with the sculpture of B Antelami who took care also of the lions of the main portal of the cathedral

In comparison to the Duomo in Milan this is a quite simple building, but never the less very nice and rather old!! Worth a visit when in Parma.

The cathedral of Parma is more stunning inside than out and is well worth a visit. There is no charge to visit the cathedral, yet there is a charge to stop in the beautiful baptistery next door. The cathedral is still used as a place...More

Absolutely stunning! One of the finest examples of large Romanesque church. A lot of groups visiting around, so a light murmur of tour guides caters for a special atmosphere, which still does not ruin the pious appeal of the sacred place.
