This is probably one of the least impressive architectural structures within Urbino but everywhere else it would be a must see. This little town is so full of fantastic architecture and structural beauty that this monument almost seems ordinary.
Standing in front of the Ducal Palace you can hardly ignore this 2500 year old Egyptian monolith. It is impressive, but once again, asks the colonial question of "What is it doing here?" And in this case, why is it mounted with a cross. Just...More
