It has a wide and white Renaissance facade. The interior is majestic. The decorations, statues and paintings in the 2 chapels flanking the choir aisle are really wonderful.

As with many things in Urbino, the Duomo looks more impressive from the outside than on the inside. As cathedrals go, this is a bit bare and the chapel in the grotto underneath the church is also a bit dull and you don't feel as...More

The cathedral looks fantastic from the outside. Note that the cathedral is still closed after the earthquake of August 2016 damaged the dome. We were told it would be closed for a year. Ŵe would have loved to have seen inside.

Due to the earthquake, the Duomo was under repair and reinforcement. It was a disappointment not to see the interior murals, but the structure itself, perched on its hilltop, adjacent to the palace, was stunning. It was interesting watching the workers retrofit the 600 year...More

The Cattedrale is worth a 5 min visit. Apart from the main nave, which was a welcome break from the intense heat outside, the side chapels are exquisitely decorated: the Chapel of the Holy Sacrament with a painting by Federico Barocci 16th century depicting The...More

We spent much longer inside the church then what we initially had intended. It is a magnificent church with a beautiful color scheme. The tranquility inside is very soothing.
