Address
Neighbourhood: Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
How to get there
  • Lepanto • 6 min walk
  • Ottaviano - San Pietro - Musei Vaticani • 8 min walk

Feb 2020
I loved this street which was my daily commute to walk through it. It has all needs and all the stores for daily quick requirements.

Nice street less crowded

Short street near the Vatican walls. Small shops and a few restaurants would keep you busy for a couple of hours. Worth it..

Great location and great staff
May 2019 • Couples
This hotel could not be better located, literally only 10 mins from the Vatican. A little more of a walk to other sites such as Colosseum, etc.
breakfast was adequate and enough to store you up for the day, probably could do with a couple more hot choices, but otherwise ok.
The staff were excellent, not sure how many are there but we only ever saw three, but saw Vulvia in particular on the reception desk many times, whom i would describe absolutely as the face of cola De Rienzo, she is wonderful, informative, funny. She got our little break started with good places to go and how to get there via, feet , bus or metro. gave us lots of tips on avoiding pick pockets. There was not anywhere that she didn't seem to know, including the best times and prices when to come back. If i had a little niggle it was possibly that we had no view from our room, there was such a large shelf below our window we couldn't even see the road, plus the window was quite high making it impossible to see anything really and we could have done with more than one USB point. But that said the room was always clean and fresh, and the shower has to be the best shower we have ever used, It had water coming from every direction.
Overall a great stay and we would definitely stay again.
But a big thanks to Vulvia who made it for us

Nice street but not a must
Apr 2019 • Family
Nice street to visit if you have already visited the Vatican and want to grab something to eat and want to mark it off your site list, however it’s not a must area to visit. We enjoyed an afternoon drink and Pizza after our Vatican visit on the street.

Stroll and shop
Feb 2019 • Friends
It's the most important street which cuts through Rome’s commercial Prati neighborhood, and one of the best known streets for leisurely shopping in the city.
It is a long, straight avenue, primarily a shopping destination, with clothing stores, Italian shoe shops, movie theaters and coffee shops lining the street.
The Romans used to shop in that street which was famous for its elegant shops and nice restaurants in its neighborhood.
It was the less expensive alternative to the major and luxury shopping area in the very heart of Rome, with its world-known and iconic streets like Via Condotti, Via Frattina and via Borgognona.
Nowadays the situation has changed a lot, the best one-brand stores have closed down or moved somewhere else.
Less fancy and unexpensive shops have replaced them overnight.
Some street stalls and vendors started to appear on both sides of the street, making it much less attractive.
Still Via Cola di Rienzo attracts a lot of locals and tourists who like to have a stroll, especially during the weekends, and enjoy a quick bite or ice cream from unexpensive food joints which have come out like mushrooms.

Great for shopping
Oct 2018 • Friends
Visit this street on every trip to Rome. Much better than Via del Corso. Great shopping. Castroni is great for watching or buying food from around the world. In the beginning of February there are great discounts in stores like Tommy Hilfiger, Desigual, Colors of Benetton, Zara Home aso.
