In addition to being a place to view the Pantheon, you can also see the fountain and the street performers. They are actually quite entertaining and adds to the whole experience of being at the Pantheon.

This is the square just outside of the Pantheon. It is mostly car free. Lots of Hotels in the area, tons of cafes and of course the Pantheon. There is a taxi stand in one corner of the square which is nice to use to...More

This is usually a very crowded square filled with folks queuing for entry to the Pantheon or hanging around Fontana della Rotonda. Numerous restaurants and apartment buildings surround it. Come early in the morning or late, late at night for a less crowded experience.

Piazza della Rotonda is just in front of Pantheon. There is a fountain with an Egyptian obelisk standing there and surrounded by cafes and restaurants. Music players and horse cart drivers are there to attract tourists. Nice to relax here after viewing the internal portion...More

This square, Piazza della Rotonda is where the Pantheon is. There is a fountain and Egyptian obelisk in the center of the square. Some cafes and restaurants too.

It really depends the type of place you stay in. I stayed in a lovely small hotel about 4 doors down for about 200AUD a night
