This square with a fountain and obelisk in the centre is next to the Pantheon. It is a touristy and busy area with restaurants, shops and street performers. A nice place to people watch and take some photos of the Pantheon..
The plaza is actually defined by its proximity to the Pantheon and to a delightful Baroque creation of a fanciful fountain. The plaza is nothing unusual or particularly noteworthy otherwise.
The interest for us was how a 20 foot tall, red marble obelisk from one...More
If you have time to kill, go. Otherwise, not a must see. It sits right outside the pantheon which again, is over crowded. Beware of street vendors attempting to sell bracelets or other things. I personally found it a bit dirty, didn't really care for...More
Rome has so many wonderful squares filled with lots of cozy cafes and pizzerias. This square is located directly across from the Pantheon so it was on our way. I would have to say that compared to the other squares in Rome, this one did...More
As with so many of Rome's wonderful squares, when we arrived at the Piazza della Rotonda opposite the Pantheon, there was a sea of people enjoying themselves - some sitting almost up against the fountain, some kids running around, tourist families orienting themselves and deciding...More

We always stay in the quiet Piazza Monte Citorio but, never fail to enjoy walking down an looking around Piazza Rotunda. Yes it's 'tourist central', crowded and bustling, but it's great fun.
Yes the Pantheon is there (you cant miss it!) and there's a fountain...More
In addition to being a place to view the Pantheon, you can also see the fountain and the street performers. They are actually quite entertaining and adds to the whole experience of being at the Pantheon.
Different street performers in this Piazza. One time we were there and a beautiful opera voice from within the Piazza made us linger here to appreciate the whole piece of music. The other time it was a Rock band performing some classic rock. We enjoyed...More
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighbourhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa
drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.
