A wonderful tour with a fabulous guide! Domenico was knowledgeable, entertaining and personable. The food was terrific and the area really interesting.a great way to see a new neighborhood that is definitely off the beaten track.fun!
I strongly suggest you arrange Francesco to guide you for the Testaccio Food Tour. He is so knowledgeable about the history of that locale and about how Roman food should be served. We devoured the information and the food!
Visited Testaccio on November 2 (All Souls' Day) to pay my respects to my father who is buried in the Non-Catholic Cemetery in Testaccio, just behind the Pyramid of Cestius. Took the opportunity to visit the free Porta San Paolo e Museo della Via Ostiense,...More

Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small
businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
We took a walking and eating tour of seven places in Testaccio including the Market. We didn't sit there, but in addition to grocery items there was prepared food to eat so I would guess there was some seating.
