Our tour guide stopped here and told us to go in and have a look because of the 2 Caravaggio paintings. The paintings were beautiful but that was only a small part of this church. There were many side altars , one more beautiful than...More

You get to see four Bernini's, a Caravaggio, and a Raphael for free. And it is right off the fun Piazza del Popolo, next to the DaVinci Museum.

Came across this large church by chance as our guide book suggested it as an alternative to the St Peters Basilica. It was well worth the visit - the interior is incredible, the crowds are virtually absent and it has incredible decorations throughout.

This church - to which the entrance is not particularly obvious - is absolutely amazing. Fabulous art by Bellini and Caravaggio inside. It's very welcoming unlike, for example, St Peter's and an additional plus point is that it's cool on a hot day. Don't miss...More

This church is beautifully decorated for the glory of God. Many tourists visit to see the lovely dome art. The nave is usually quiet enough for reverent prayer despite tourists.

Check the opening times (we didn't!). A beautiful church with lots of interesting features (look out for skeletons). Go and see the 2 Carovaggio paintings if nothing else.

Almost hiding in plain site at the corner of a rather lovely piazza del popolo is this imposing church. Beautiful painted ceilings, sculptures, paintings and a skeleton! Bernini sculptures and Caravaggio paintings can be found here. Strange unexpected but wonderful. I'm not religious but it...More

We arrived as Mass was wrapping up, so we waited in quiet reflection admiring what we could from the back until we were able have a look around this breathtaking renaissance and baroque church. Spend a few euros to light up the side chapels -...More

There is no formal code that is policed, but the usual sensitivities should be observed - no singlets, no shorts for men, no bare shoulders, bare knees, headscarves etc.
