I recommend you visit the Colosseum first, then the Arch of Augustus and then Palatine Hill. All are interesting, and if you have a good guide, you will understand the history of this great empire. You will have to spend 4-5 hours for these visits,...More

So much has occurred here over the centuries. I thought this was just a "also ran" part of a coliseum tour, boy was I wrong. This was incredible, every bit as invigorating.

This site is not overly crowded and is worth spending some time visiting. It is very nicely lit up at night. Overall I would recommend adding this site to a visit to the colosseum.

You are in Rome and its hard to see it all- but it is fascinating how the NEW Rome was developed around the old. Visit the Palatine Hill.

Pre-book with the Colosseum. Fantastic to wander around, no need to rush, just take it all in. The buildings, the garden, the homes, so much to take in, the cobbles can be wearing on your feet, wear flat comfortable shoes.

We just did the 3.5hour Roman Guy tour. It starts at the Roman Forum then Palatine Hill then the Colosseum including the underground access. The guide was very knowledgeable and the tour was well run. Have fun.
