We stopped in while walking the Appian Way (about mile 3 from the entrance of the trail). There was no charge to get in but we put a donation in the box that was close to the entrance. Although the place was mostly basic ruins, there were a few helpful info panels. It was amazing to think of it being busy and full of people back in the day. There were 3 buildings in the ruins, including an old chariot race track and the mausoleum of Romulus. Each place was a fair distance from each other so took a bit of walking. There was a tractor mowing the fields so maybe some upkeep/improvements going on.…

Part of the complex that includes the Mausolo de Romolo and the Circus Massenzio. It is mostly ruins, but taken together with the other two attractions, this site is worth a visit. Good signage in English. Admission is free

The site was very well preserved (especially the racetrack), but there were absolutely no information panels in the site whatsoever. Entrance was free. The site is really small.

What a villa, the size of this place is over the top. Hiking the grounds and trying to visualize the villa in the roman times was breathtaking. A lot of the information panels are sunburned so you will need your own guidebook to understand the history. We were admitted without paying any fee which puzzles us but we weren't complaining. Take your time walking the grounds and some of the buildings.…
