The amphitheater is very well preserved and you see great facades of the age and still get great acoustics if you wish to belt out some poetry.

The size of the place is impressive and even more so is the sound quality. Don't be surprised to hear someone testing it. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

The sheer scale and architecture here take your breath away - we should have more places like this to see concerts, etc. in in the 21st century.

The Romans knew a lot about sound before the era of electronic amplification - stand in the center and sing a little song and you'll be amazed how 'loud' your own voice sounds to everyone in the theatre.

One of the highlights of the tour. Having seen Roman theatres in England, Morocco, France and elsewhere in Italy this is the one I would choose to give a visiting spacemen an idea of what went on.From the varied tiered seating for the different classes...More
