It's neat to be able to walk through the arches into the arena and look up at the stands. I recommend using the audio guide.

The large theater is a very well preserved part of Pompeii. It has been excavated and restored and I believe looks much as it did before the city was destroyed. It is now used for occasional performances again. The theater was one of the more...More

My wife and I visited while on a tour of Pompei in July, 2016. I climbed to the top and took some photos. I could imagine attending a concert here one day. It would have a great sound and excellent visuals from all angles.

Impressive preserved theater in Pompeii which is still used present day for performances. Amazing how brilliant the builders were in constructing the theater. This is a must see.

After walking for several hours, the seating offered by the teatro was welcome. The elevation also afforded unique photo opportunities. The acoustics were phenomenal and featured by a pick up group of tourist singers who chose to entertain those present. It appears that it is...More

The amphitheater is very well preserved and you see great facades of the age and still get great acoustics if you wish to belt out some poetry.

This was one of the highlights for me personally. The grand theatre is still mostly there, even a section at the top. You can imagine how incredible it must have been. Go to the top and take a picture and then have a look around...More

The size of the place is impressive and even more so is the sound quality. Don't be surprised to hear someone testing it. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
