Much was closed off to the public in November 2018. Very vivid wall paintings worth seeing. Its a 10-15 minute walk from the main ruins.

The owners of Villa dei Misteri were obviously wealthy. Not sure what that would have been in Roman times and being wealthy did not save them in AD79. The villa is well decorated and in quite good condition considering...

Well preserved with many of the walls featuring art and deco of the first century. Many rooms and pillars provide clues as to the upper class living of the period. A bit of a walk from the main archeological site, but worth the energy.

The Villa dei Misteri is a relatively short walk north-west of the main archaeological site at Pompeii and is worth seeing because of its important original frescoes. The most important ones depict a series of scenes from a Dionysian rite, which is considered to be...More

When visiting Pompeii don’t forget to leave the park by Villa dei Misteri, a small walk to this exit but certainly worthwhile

Visited this site while at Pompeii and enjoyed the art, theories on why it was, and the 'naughty' bits!

Right at the far end of the Pompei ancient site. Do have a look it's worth the walk. Part of the archaeological Pompei site.

This house is a bit off from the main streets of the Pompei site. But well worth a visit. In the beginning it had 90 rooms, all beautifully decorated. The excavation begun in 1930’s.

On the very outskirts of Pompeii this could be easily missed, but, it's definitely worth the walk. The route from Pompeii takes you past the ancient tombs of the important people of Pompeii and down to this fantastically preserved villa. The decoration and preservation are...More

Walked up to this when in Pompei ruins, not sure why this is mentioned separately. Something we missed? Gift shop close and cafe bit further along the road.

The door by the Villa dei misteri is only an exit. You have to enter through one of the entrances. The closest one is downhill on the left hand side of the road when exiting the Circumvesuviana station. You will then have to... More

Cruise ships generally have excursions to Pompei. Be prepared for a hot few hours with lots of other Visitors. I would not recommend going on your own there. If the cruise offers a trip to Paestum take that in preference to... More

It is part of the Pompeian Ruins. At the northwest entrance kind of by itself. It was a pretty nice house of one of the more wealthy residents. There are some great frescoes and there is continuing restoration at this site... More
