We spent some time here admiring the amazing marble carvings & basically consoling ourselves for getting to Pompeii too late to see the sights. Some rather devoted people shuffle towards the alter on their knees!

This is a beautiful church and complex. Has a very special picture in it and is very well visited. Last time I was there it closed at lunchtime as many churches in Italy do. Peaceful and cool.

Suggestion: contact the church directly? The info is on their web site. I would not hesitate to write in English - many people in the area are very fluent.
