You can't miss this awesome structure when arriving in Pompei, it will attract you like a magnet. Pristine preservation. You can go up the bell tower which has a lift fitted.

This is just a wonderful cathedral and well worth a detour to visit it. This is a “working cathedral” not a tourist attraction, but all the better for that.

You can take the Circumvesuviana to Pompei Scavi and then either walk 20 minutes into town or you take a taxi from the Circumvesuviana into Pompei town. I think the fare is about 10 Euro but check with the driver before... More

Suggestion: contact the church directly? The info is on their web site. I would not hesitate to write in English - many people in the area are very fluent.
