The god Nile was located in a small square originally the Egyptian quarter. The people from Alexandria who settled here erected this statue to represent their wealth and the Nile River. The statue was a few minute walk from Museo Cappella Sansevero.

This statue is an unexpected treasure. You walk through the shopping street and suddenly you see this statue. The story is as impressive, on how it finally arrived at this location.

A nice spot ( probably a stop for a nice photo) in the heart of the "centro storico" of Naples. If one takes a better look of the statue one can see a baby (looking like breastfeeding) at Nilo's chest!!
