We came for the view, which is simply superb. There's also a museum that we did not visit. The castle is at the summit of the Vomero hill. There are three funicular railways running up this hill from various directions.

We visited here on our last afternoon/evening in Naples, travelling up by funicular.
We paid 1.25 euros each with our artecard - not sure if this is the usual price, but we arrived quite late so may have been cheaper.

Hi it’s on the hill over looking the city and the bay of Naples ,so take the funicular railway up and walk round...at at the ticket office then enter the castle from the bottom...walk to the top there’s not a lot to see on... More
Hi it’s on the hill over looking the city and the bay of Naples ,so take the funicular railway up and walk round...at at the ticket office then enter the castle from the bottom...walk to the top there’s not a lot to see on the way up BUT you’re rewarded with the most spectacular views once there....once you’re done head back down go to the monastery next door have a look around there too ,that’s quite interesting then walk down the Panoramic steps they are fantastic too
