After venturing to Pompeii and Herculaneum this was the must see place where all the artefacts and casts have gone or so we were told/advertised freely at both venues. The casts are no longer there, most of the Herculaneum exhibit was closed off and the...More

Great museum, so much to see. Lots of mosaics with such great detail, many of them from Pompei site. Fantastic frescos and very large hall with many statues. Very impressive. On entry we was offered a guide for 120 Euro, don’t bother just take your...More

This is an experience. I wandered round for quite a while looking at the frescos, statues and mosaics. They are fantastic. Don't go on a tour, do your own thing then you have all the time you want.

I had less than 24 hours in Naples and only 2 hours to spend at this museum. I wish I could have stayed longer. But if you are in Naples, do not miss this!

Went to see the Pompei collection of artifacts but also enjoyed the sculpture. This museum doesn’t have a lot in the way of English explanations, but you could purchase an audio tour if desired. We spent 2.5 hrs. here and saw enough of what we...More

I agree with most other comments, it would be very helpful to have English descriptions on all exhibits. This is probably the most extensive museum I have ever visited, having spent 6 hours viewing absolutely everything. There are plenty of seats to take a rest....More
