Much enjoyed a day walking around this end of Naples. Recommend the central post office, relic of international trade and Mussolini, a fine design not much defaced. Lots of small shops and restaurants. Particularly liked Marte, jewellers of Via Chiaia 41 - substantial stuff in...More

Penalty is a boutique in Vicoletto S.Arpino, 3. Just a few steps from Via Chaia. I have known the owners for years, recently they have been joined by their delightful children. Penalty, stocks top Italian fashion brands, it is the kind of shop where you...More

We stayed in this district at the Palazzo Alabardieri. This area is very close to the sea-10 minute walk and the Toledo area -10 minutes. The area is where the upmarket shops of Naples are but only minutes away from the lower end of the...More

Love monestary, basilica and cloister. Mostly Gothic so for me beats the baroque churches nearby (ymmv).

We loved our apartment and the district of Chiaia. It was a clean and classy area and one closest to the sea. The shops cater for everyone with local bakeries and green grocers along with excellent local restaurants in abundance. You feel safe and completely...More

The unusual part of the city, less hectic and noisy, with many nice shops and restaurants, perfect for strolling around without every day’s chaos so typical for Naples. We took our time wandering around the cobblestone streets and enjoying the relative safeness of the area.

Not the real naples with its gritty, down to earthness. Not loud at all. It would be a shame if all naples was like this...just like so many other world cities. Nice though for an hour or two of unreality.

Opposite to the historical part of the City, Chiaia is nice, quiet and clean district of Naples. Must visit for all the visitors :-)

Chiaia is a more upmarket part of Naples. We very much enjoyed strolling around Chiaia's multitude of shops, restaurants and gelato shops. It was calmed than Via Toledo and nice to stroll around after dinner.

No we actually found the local restaurants very reasonable. The pasta with clams is served absolutely everywhere and averaged around 10/12 euro. House wine was from around 8 euro for 500ml. Lots of locals eat in the area and... More
