Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Make sure you go all the way to the top for the great views! What does one. We'd to say about castles? They're all cool. And this one was free!

The castle is so imposing, but it is basically empty. The modern sculpture garden is a treat however. Needs better explanatory signage or notes.

We went to visit the castle because we love everything historical. It was great being able to walk through at your own pace, and admire the views inside and out from every stop. The views at the top were simply breath taking,so even if you don't understand all the Italian writing,go for the views up top.

This is certainly not the most evocative medieval castle in Italy but still an interesting reminder of the long and chequered past of the city. Reggio is short of historical buildings due to the earthquakes which makes the castle even more precious. Sadly, the building was truncated after the 1908 quake and only the two Aragonese towers remained of the much larger fortification. Inside the recently restored castle is empty housing only temporary art exhibitions. The terrace on the top is one of the few vantage points in the middle of the city.

The castle is best viewed from the outside, because much of it is in ruins and much is not open. They have a nice exhibition of policemen over the years. It is not much of a rainy day activity because so little is open.

This tour is not suitable for women, visiting on their own. One of the old tour guides is very unprofessional in his behavior and can't keep his hands to himself. Although the tour is free, you get a very unpleasant experience in return.
