Around 4000 years of culture in the area of Cartagena is represented. One of the prize pieces is an extremely beautiful(even by modern standards) piece of jewellery found at Los Nietos, just a local train ride away on the shore of the Mar Menor.

Being the third deepest Port in the world we docked in Caratgena on a rainy day. We walked up through the town through the shop laden streets, although I couldn't see anything that caught my attention. We headed back towards the Port and bought a...More

The organizers have put a great effort in presenting ancient history. There are well preserved objects from 2000 BC exhibited, each followed with detailed text about its purpose and usage. The amphitheater is amazing, as well in size but also in symmetry and precision. Standing...More

This museum is fairly new as is the discovery of the amphitheatre - right in the middle of this pretty town. The museum is beautifully presented through time with excellent displays which finally lead you to the excavated amphitheatre - this has been reconstructed in...More

We travelled to Cartagena on a Sunday drive, thinking it would be quiet! Roads and sign posts were ok, if you do miss a turn off there's always another.... Cartagena was lovely, the harbour was a bit "used" looking but the cobbled streets and quaint...More

Air conditioned so very welcome on a hot day. 6 euro entry but well worth it. The story and changes through the years is amazing and the amphitheatre itself is spectacular!
