We took the EMT bus from the airport to downtown Madrid. The bus was quite nice with a big board letting you know the stops coming up with the expected time to the stop.

We arrived at T4. Walk to exit, follow sign for bus and get out. Walk thru pedestrian crossing and on the right you see a flat yellow pole. It stops there. Tickets on board. 5 €. Same ticket cost as Metro, but going to O'Donnell...More

I took the 203 bus from atocha station and in 35 minutes I were at T1 terminal at the Madrid Airport. The price was 5 euros payable at the driver.

The bus picked us up at terminal 2 so we both had seats and space for out luggage. Many passengers got in at terminal 3 so the bus became very crowded as they only had standing room and had to keep their bags with them.
