Among all the imposing buildings on Gran Via, this one is perhaps the most impressive. The art deco skyscraper is the product of American designers and thus gives a feeling of Manhattan. A good photo stop.

As we walked down the Gran Via it was a pleasant surprise to see such a beautiful building. Opened in 1929 this was Madrid’s first skyscraper at 84m or 276 ft tall and is worth a stop and a photo.

The Telefonica Building was built in 1929 and it rises to 89 meters. It currently hosts the Telefonica Store, a Telecommunications Museum 'Espacio Fundacion Telefonica' and an auditorium.

One of the oldest skyscrapers in Europe. Hemingway used to work over here in the late1930s while the Nationalists were fighting the Republicans. Emblematic exposition about the works of Norman Foster. The past meets the future.

This is one of the nicest building on Gran Via - there is a contrast between its height and functionality and its design and beautiful architectural details. It is an historical building which construction ended in 1929.

The Telefonica Building on the Gran Via has very beautiful architecture that adds to the beauty of this very busy street. It is a historic building that was completed in 1929.

Edificio Telefonica is another fine building in the Gran Via. Its relatively simple and classic facade from the 1920s contrasts favourably with some of the more over elaborate buildings along the main street.
