This is basically an empty space between some buildings with absolutely no touristic attraction. Its mainly used by locals to just sit around or walk their dogs.

Plaza del Carmen is a mixed square near Gran Via with no real outstanding features. New and old buildings and the odd cafe but no reason to visit this square.

This seemed like a place where many locals went. They were there walking their dogs, or having coffee. There's even a movie theater there.

Right in the middle of Madrid - and Spain, in fact. A charming plaza with a lot of folklore going on. Musiciens, dansers, artists and beggars. Close to several good shopping streets. The landmark of Madrid is here. The bear with the strawberry-tree. Charming.

The Plaza del Carmen is a very busy plaza because it is between the Gran Via and the Puerta del Sol, so there are always many people who pass this plaza. However there is little that will interest the tourist at this plaza.
