Found this crypt after leaving the royal palace (which is about 50m away). It is not as busy as the other places in Madrid and I found the silence to be deafening and a little haunting. Free entrance but a 1-2 euro donation is requested....More

The crypt is not old. I didn’t see anything more than 25 years old. I was just expecting something different. It’s nice but not old and I wasn’t expecting that.

Close to the Palacio Real and Almudena Cathedral, you can find the Almudena Crypt Chapel It is a not old building, it follows the NEO-reoman style and it is a very quiet place

Not overrun with tourists, this chapel is off the main road and probably overlooked given the proximity of the royal palace. There is no fixed cost to enter and they just ask for a donation. The chapel is extremely peaceful and beautiful with lovely cloisters....More

After visiting the Cathedral, Museum and Dome, complete the trilogy with a visit to the crypt. It is constructed in luminous neo-Romanesque style giving the visitor a sense of entering a grand church. It has more than 400 columns each with a unique capital. The...More
