Fantastic market with absolutely everything you could wish for. It's huge. Easy to get to by using Madrid's fantastic metro. A local affair which is a welcome change from some of central Madrid's very touristy mercados.

The market where the locals shop for their daily food. Here is very clean. The market is very big where is divided into several alleys for the salami, cheese, fruit, vegetables, seafood, meat. Besides that, here is the best place to have a cheaper price...More

Had the opportunity to return to this authentic local market, as I have been staying in a hotel fifteen minutes walk away. I purchased several different green and black olives, which were sealed air-tight for me, as well as few tins of salted anchovies and...More

The Mercado de Maravillas has great prime material if you like cooking. It's said to be the best mercado of Madrid (though not the most famous among turists as unlike the market close to the plaza mayor, this one has only few bars and it...More

We went there as we stayed in an apartment and found everything we needed at very reasonable prices. It is not touristy. Nor is it beautiful but the seafood was plentiful and fresh, cheese, olives and fruit excellent.

Best open market in Madrid. Went to San Miguel the first day, but there was only ONE fresh produce stall....all the rest was one big tapas/beer/wine bar....good food, but not what we were after. Maravillas was awesome, with many, many produce/meat/jamon/fish stalls and just a...More
