This is not a tourist trap. Located in the exclusive Salamanca district. Very clean, exclusive local products, fresh and beautiful, nice athmosphere. All kind of fish, fruits, vegetables, ready meals...Little bit hidden corner but easy to find. I visit this every year.

The market is in the middle of an upper class barrio and retail area in Madrid close to Buen Retiro. It was absolutely buzzing with office workers at lunchtime and had a great variety of produce. There was a Dia supermarket tucked in one corner...More

I would choose the Mercado de la Paz over Mercado San Miguel if you are after buying produce, it may not be as elegant but does offer a great variety of high quality food

Visited the market for breakfast at Casa Dani, famous for its wonderful Spanish omelettes. The food is reasonably priced, the omelettes incredibly delicious. It was my first visit after its renovation in August 2107. The place is colorful, cleaned and friendly. A must visit while...More

Walking through the very stylish shops close to this market we did not expect the local flavour that is what Madrid is all about. The pretty unattractive entrance did nothing to encourage us in but once inside the stalls and food on show was brilliant....More

This local food market in the upscale Salamanca neighborhood is not on the tourist map and that's what makes it worth visiting. Gourmet, artisan foods available to go or to be eaten at the market. Seating is limited. Attached to the outside of the market...More

Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights

Not sure if the market is open. I imagine that the outside restaurants are open. Have your hotel concierge check out the information.
