Retiro Park is a beautiful, tranquil and quite large park in central Madrid. It has an extensive network of paths, plenty of shade and many notable things to see and enjoy within its boundaries, making for a very enjoyable walk. While strolling through the park,...More

This is the only sculpture in the world dedicated to the devil. The fallen angel is well depicted as leaning backwards, about to fall. There wasn’t any water at all when I was there in June. OK to drop by and take a look if...More

Got to see way more than the fallen one. Free art museum, rose garden, water, park, nice people. Just a healthy place to experience.

Certainly not your average monument but interesting to look at if you happen to be walking past. Don’t make to much of an effort to see if it you are at one of the other sides of the park though.

When I'm in Madrid, if I'm walking around the Retiro, I always like to go back to the Angel Caido. There aren't many statues to Lucifer in the world and this is one. I like how human it was portrayed.

Madrid is packed with outstanding statues in fountains and Monumento del Angel Caido in Retiro Park, would rank as pretty average by comparison. Merits include its original theme.

A good looking statue with fountains in a pond set in a glorious and large Park. So it's one of many great things to look at in Parque del Retiro

They say it is the only public monument that represents the devil and that the snake at the feets of the Angel stands as 666 meters above sea level... It is an interesting representation of the fallen Angel.
