The renewed Matadero is a large complex area, offering various sites, food places, music, high-level temporary exhibits. In summer time it is a mervelous place to go close to the sunset.

Architecture, new arts, experimentation, good neighborhood projects, and nice terraces to enjoy the place.

Went to the Matadero Market and had an excellent time. There were approximately 30 vendors there selling fresh cheese, fruit, burgers, coffee and dozens of other artisanal products. It was free to enter and the prices of the food items ranged from €2-6 depending on...More

This is a nice arts and cultural centre. I'd recommend researching what's on before visiting. We visited when no event was taking place, but still nice to walk around, see the buildings, and it seems the cafe is always open. It's next to the river...More

This former slaughterhouse was converted into an art house. I went with a few friends to an event called La Plaza en Verano. Definitely something different to experience in Madrid. There's also a restaurant/bar serving Spanish + International food with good food and prices.

This is a great example or reconverted urban warehouses for the purpose of cultural pastimes for mainstream population. A well located spot for decades used as the main slaughterhouse for the city next to the Manzanares river. Located along the pedestrian walkway and cycling route....More

This is an enormous property a bit on the outskirts of Madrid that is slowly becoming an art space. When we visited it was maybe 30% operational. It has great potential but, in my opinion, it needs aggressive management, funding and a lot of encouragement...More

When I was looking up information at CentroCentro, I noticed a newsletter featuring programmes at La Cineteca in Madrid. When googling this place, I noted this cultural space called Matadero which was restored from a former abbatoir/meat storage complex. As I am interested in how...More
