Picasso's Guernica painting at the Reina Sofia lives up to the hype, and is a stunning and dramatic painting. Wonderful presentation with other Picasso works and studies that explain how Picasso created it.

The museum is huge and a variety of art exhibitions. There are different buildings and floors, so be prepared to walk. I strongly recommend you get a map because you might get lost or miss a few areas.

Definitely need more than a couple of hours here if you like art. Expect there to be kids. Absolutely take a tour guide with you that knows art and the artists.

I am not a huge fan of contemporary art, but I found two exhibits here that were well worth my time. And I loved the interior garden with benches under the shady trees. The museum is located on a plaza with several good cafes so...More
