Again, interested in naval history this was one of my spots on the list to tick off. A beautiful setting and you can truly imagine the old ships anchoring here.

A shame that this very historical place is in disrepair. So much could be made to reflect the importance of this deep little harbour, where Nelson's body was brought in a barrel of rum following his death at the Battle of Trafalgar

I always enjoy a good walk around gib when I visit and if you venture down to Rosia Bay you can check out this peaceful corner juxtaposed with the 100 ton gun!

This is where Nelson's body was brought in a barrel of brandy to be brought to the UK after he was killed in the Battle of Trafalgar. Unfortunately this is currently in ruins and hopefully it is in the process of major renovation

We walked 2 miles from the centre of town to see the gun . We were glad as it only cost £1 each to get in . It is a big gun never fired in anger.

If you happen to be on a tour that takes you to 100 ton gun, then OK and spend a few extra minutes viewing Nelson's Anchorage.

Worth a quick visit if you are in the area visiting the 100 ton gun but wouldn't make the journey if that all there was to see here.

Great to see the spot where Nelson's body was brought ashore before onward transmission to the UK in a barrel of spirits. But looks like that was when any money was last spent on the area. It is badly run down and could be made...More
