While the remotely accessed views on the east side of the Rock of Gibraltar are lovely, this hike that goes from O'Hara's Battery at the top, down many crumbling steps and rocks and then levels out (somewhat) and takes you around the east side of...More

Amazing walk off the beaten track, challenging at times but worth it just for the views and the sense of achievement once done. My partner and I walked up and both were apprehensive after reading some reviews and not having the best head for heights...More

We had a lovely hike up the Mediterranean Steps. We weren't entirely sure what to expect. The trail to the steps was gorgeous and well maintained. The steps themselves are quite a task. I'll call them a climb, not a walk, up the rock. We...More

The amount of wildlife which you don't see on the other side of the rock is abundant, a proper gem of a walk if somewhat energetic, but well worth taking the time to do.

We only discovered the steps after we got to the top walking up the roadways. We walked down using the steps and with over 700 of them it was quite challenging on the old knee joints! Maybe we became more fit from the experience but...More

I walked these a couple of years ago. My husband walked them again this holiday on his own due to my knee injury. He is 69 and quite fit, but he has noticed that the steps have deteriorated since last time. They are reasonably hard...More

This walk is great if you like climbing up and down hills. I did the walk both ways on 2 days. It is hot and exposed, so try to do it early in the day. It is not dangerous, or exposed as some reports say....More

This is a very long climb, with uneven worn steps & areas of gravel. I didn't, but some of my family succeeded in getting to the top. Must have good strong footwear before attempting. Views along the way were amazing.

I am so glad I took the time to search out the Steps and spend a very pleasant hour getting to the Upper Rock away from the crowds. Setting off fairly early, before the heat, my only companions were an early morning jogger (who quickly...More

Was hiking along enjoying the wonderful sights when a very aggressive monkey attacked my girlfriend. She managed to break loose and ran, but the monkey came after and catched up. Then it forced her backpack of her, opened it and got her sallad. It was...More

Yes you cam take dogs on the Med Steps but it's not recommended as you might bump into some macaques and the monkeys like to attack dogs. So better to go without a dog.
