This spot is where they feed them. The apes are the highlight of the mountain. And yes, I know they aren’t really apes but they are super fun. Chasing each other and screaming and climbing on cars. Great fun.

I didn't get what's the point of this place. As far I saw Apes Den is only feeding shelter along the road. There was two apes eating and isolated with a fence. We saw much more apes on the top of the rock along the...More

If you are an animal lover, you have to visit the Apes Den. Not really apes, they are actually macaques. They are everywhere and they are not shy. You can get up and close and personal with these monkeys. They are the only wild monkey...More

We hiked all day. The apes are all over the Rock. They are not afraid of people. You are not allowed to feed them. Some people reported them being aggressive and stealing food so don't have anything out when you are in their area.

The island itself has very beautiful views, atleast when you go up the hill. The road signs can be a bit confusing, they should work on that a bit more. The apes are very fun to watch, especially when the little ones play around with...More

My partner and I took the cable car to the top of the rock and then walked back down via the Mediterranean steps! Both ways offered fantastic views and stunning photo opportunities! When we arrived at the top we strolled around for a good few...More

You will find the Apes, which are actually classified as monkeys, mainly at The Apes Den in the morning and then around St. Michaels Caves restaurant.

We took cable car to top and walked down the rock. Apes Den is about half way down. It is a man made enclosure and food is put here by the government. TBH there was more monkeys higher up the rock As said in most...More

This is one of two areas where you can almost be guaranteed to see monkeys (also called apes, and really they are macaques). The other location is right at the top of the rock where they are fed daily so that they show up for...More

The apes are famous here and are great to see, but please respect them and follow the instruction about how to treat the apes. These are wild animals and you need to respect that. Apes den is excellent and you can really see the apes...More

The apes tend to be at the top or the middle of the rock but are not restricted to a particular area but definitely don't tend to be down in town

I would be careful with that. When we went there were some young baby ones and some of the adult apes were pretty aggressive. Remember even though they see people daily they are wild animals. Some will come up to you... More

Hi Katie! Sorry about my late reply. We booked it at the hotel we were staying at and we travelled to Gibraltar with a trip arranged by TUI. We chose the premium version of the trip and that made sure we didn't have to wait... More
