The old section of Tarragona is a rabbit's warren of small twisting streets set on the side of h hill. Capped by the Basilica. Thankfully a pedestrian only area. Good strolling on the steep streets and not too much to do or see.

This is the medieval old town of Tarragona, easy to find located right by the sea. As you wander through the narrow winding streets you'll find tapas bars, restaurants, little plazas, a Cathedral and lots of Roman antiquities including an Amphitheatre and city walls. Also...More

Beautiful city! Enjoyed strolling the streets during the night and morning. The view of the sea is amazing and the local atmosphere was very cozy outside of Barcelona.

Tarragona is a gorgeous town and the historic old centre is it's best facet. Beautifully located by the sea with fantastically well preserved Roman Walls and an amphitheatre, the old town has a wonderful charm. Lovely skinny, winding streets with great tapas bars and quaint...More

The old town of Tarragona, with its narrow streets and historic architecture, is a beautiful place that is worth the visit. It's topography makes it even more attractive, and reminded me of the Alfama district in Lisbon or the historic town of Bergamo, in Italy....More

Even though the "new" ("newer" is more accurate) town of Tarragona is nice, what's really the charm of the city is the old town. Narrow cobblestone streets, great buildings, street artists, restaurants, shops, some Roman ruins here and there and, of course, the great squares...More
