Foodie tour with no sangria or paella. My Barcelona food tour Is designed to be an honest experience. It begins with a visit to Santa Caterina market. It’s been around since 1845, providing the barrio’s working class with fresh ingredients. In 2005, the same year that I opened my restaurant, a refurbished Santa Caterina market opened to the public. With an undulating colourful mosaic roof representing the fruit and vegetables sold within. The people from whom I buy my produce at the market are no longer suppliers, they have become dear friends. We meet in front of the market at 9:30. The maximum number of people per tour is 8. Once we are all gathered, we go inside to have a typical Catalan breakfast. Buoyed up by our breakfast, I take you through the stalls and I buy the food that I will be making you for lunch. There will be a stop for an olive oil tasting, trying oils from all over Spain or just from Catalunya. We then walk at a leisurely pace for about 20 minutes while I chat to you about some of the architectural gems we encounter. When we arrive at my home. I set you up with drinks and some food to pick at while I get lunch started and chat to you. I adapt the menu for each group depending on season and dietary restrictions but some of my favorites are truffled potato tortilla, cured tuna belly with tomatoes, oven baked figs, pan seared Iberian secreto pork and to finish up a rich almond cake or a flourless chocolate cake. I also serve a Cava from the Penedes and a beautiful red wine from the Priorat. I still keep in contact with many of my previous clients. The general comment about the foodie mornings is that it felt like a day with friends eating and drinking wonderful food. You don’t need to be a food expert, just love good food and I think you will enjoy this experience in Barcelona. The tour wraps up about 5 hours later. I will have shared with you many of my favourite Barcelona food spots. If you are interested in recreating any of the dishes I have cooked - I email you the recipes. Market tour with Catalan breakfast at Santa Caterina, olive oil tasting, 4-5 course generous lunch cooked by me and drinks. • Maximum 8 people • Available in English / Espanol • 130€ • duration 5 hours

I was part of an Intrepid group tour that included market shopping for food, olive oil tasting and lunch at Sarah's house. It was very enjoyable and Sarah was an awesome host. Her passion for food and life in general was clear. Highly recommended
