This street dates to 1859 and is approx.11km in length maintaining a constant width of 50m. As per its name, it cuts the City in two, running from Les Corts to Sant Martíi. It vies with some of the other major arteries of the city...More

Avenue Diagonal crosses Barcelona and is a major street and is worth visiting. It has some up-market areas and more historic areas as it gets to the water. This is one of the better streets in Barcelona and is wide and tree lined and worth walking

Avinguda Diagonal is the widest and one of the most important avenues in Barcelona! A wide tree-lined 11km long boulevard with interesting building and stores. A lot of benches around the area for you to sit, relax and enjoy the atmosphere!

Worth going out of your way for. We found ourselves on Diagonal having walked from where the cruise bus dropped us. We were walking to Sagrada Família and decided to walk along Diagonal. I’m so glad we did. It’s a wide tree line boulevard with...More

Here is the newest part of Barcelona, at the end of the street there is a huge mall and amusement park. For the difference from the rest of the city, here it seemed very calm.

A beautiful tree-lined street if one needs to walk or even drive along it; however, it is not worth walking or driving along for the sake of it, there are more interesting streets such as Passeig de Gracia and La Rambla.

This is a pleasant tree lined boulevard that carries a lot of cross-town traffic and is unlike the streets in the old town. It is well-maintained and has a number of parks and garden areas and for a big city road it is surprisingly pleasant....More

Not all of Barcelona is dictated by the Vella. Apparently a need manifest for a cross town transportation corridor. In true Barcelona style, a wide swath was cut and then punctuated with exquisite architecture and sculpture.

If you don't mind to walk, make yourself a tour. At one of the main streets (and nearby) of one of the most beautiful cities on Earth, you will definitely find examples of truly impressing architecture.
