Aquabliss has been a staple of every trip I take to Barca. Amazing staff (including the fish lol) work hard with a smile on their face. The husband / wife owners are always here and keep an eye on everything. I would give them 6 stars if I could. They even give champagne 🥂. I mean c’mon :)

Following two weeks of 10 - 12 hour days walking the streets of Paris, Madrid and Barcelona a girl most definitely needs a spoil whilst her husband attends business meetings! So what else should I do than check every smart travellers 'bible'... TripAvisor, as to where I could go to get a good pedicure. I searched for spas near the Passeig de Gracia as that's where we were staying...consequently those listed were very much on the ritzy end of the price scale!

Lucky for me the word 'spa' was my pass key and good old reliable TripAdvisor guided me towards the wondrous "Aqua Bliss Spa". Checking out the map, I realised it was only a hop, skip and a jump from Plaqua Catalunya - 10 minute walk from the hotel then left into one of those charming, picturesque alley ways, just off Arcs de La Ramblas. So off I dragged my tired, dried out feet.

With no appointment, I took my chances and the delightful, friendly Manager suggested if I wait for 5 minutes, they would be happy to look after me. And that they did - brilliantly! I grabbed a conveniently located coffee from Starbucks across the lane, then gently slid into a pristinely clean personal tank of 'Dr. Fish'. I'd heard of but never indulged in this practice before. A ticklishly strange sensation at first, but 30 minutes later having given selflessly to the diet of over 50 little fishies, my feet felt amazing. But no fish alone (even starving ones) could completely diminish my rock solid heels so....as they had time, I followed my fish treatment with a deluxe pedicure. Poor, patient Melissa dutifully worked her magic (must have exhausted her) ending in a completely indulgent foot and leg massage. Definite Bliss! So much so, I just kept going...why not throw in a deluxe manicure (probably the best I've ever had) and the delightful Melissa worked her magic again. I felt like a brand new woman - completely relaxed (the complimentary glass of champagne didn't hurt)! A brand new woman ... almost...

Chatting with the enchanting Manager with excellent English (I'm so sorry I can't remember her name as she was gorgeous), I asked " Don't suppose you could recommend a good local hair dresser?" "Of course" she said..."I'll ring mine, he's only around the corner"! Within a 5 minute window of completing my spa spoil, I toddled around the corner to a most charming hair salon 'Pella Pollo" (may be incorrect spelling), who did the most professional wash, blow dry, straighten job - by a charming Italian by the name of Andrea. Three hours of luxurious spoiling put me in a sensational mood to comfortably complete another four days of exploring - on foot - the intoxicating city of Barcelona! Between visiting Gaudi's master pieces of La Sagrada Familia, The Pedrera and the amazing Casa Batllo, every other vibrant factor of Barcelona and then adding in my spoil at "Aqua Bliss" my trip was complete and totally fabulous!!! I am on holiday in Barcelona with the wife. We are in the Gothic area and we see Aquabliss. She wants to go in because her feet hurt and also because they have individual fish tanks, and that is much more hygienic, posh, etc. than the "communal" tanks we have in Newcastle. I say I'll wait outside. So I wait and then - who do I see walking in? That striker Vasqez (sp?) from Espanyol! So, if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.

I went in too.

The place itself is great. I felt a bit self-conscious sitting with my feet dangling in my personal tank, but soon got over it. The fish nibbling tickles quite a bit, but you get used to it quickly.

The staff were really friendly, communication worked fine, the place is nice, absolutely spotless. Can highly recommend!

I have seen these fish spas in Thailand, but never felt like doing it before until I saw this one. Brilliant find.

If you are in Barcelona and looking for something different. Then I highly suggest this Spa treatment. It is refreshing, and your feet will thank you. It is also a fully operational spa where you can get a variety of massages.

We had seen fish spas elsewhere but had never tried one. After a long day of walking around Barcelona, this was just what we needed! We did the 15 minute fish portion followed by 10 minutes of massage. The fish portion was fun, but the foot massage was one of the best ever!

AquaBliss Fish Spa is located on the pedestrian walk next to the Hotel Ohla where we stayed on a recent visit to Barcelona. After several days of sight seeing and walking, this spa was a relaxing experience. Feet are first washed and then sitting on very comfortable chairs, your feet a slowly lowered into the tank. Then the fish go to work feasting on dry skin. It tickles at first. After 30 minutes, you are treated to a 15 to 20 minute foot massage. Result: baby soft feet and a relaxed body.

What a great time. I had little fish eating me which was strangely relaxing and fascinating...then a brilliant foot massage that made me go for the body massage. I left in a state of total flotation...I must look for something like this in London...
