A very nice museum, going from prehistoric time to early nowadays, in 2 floors and about 6 rooms in total. Local Leonese viewpoint, which makes it somewhat special. Nice views onto the city. For the most part also in English. Wheelchair accessible.

Entrance is free if over age 65, but otherwise only less than 2 Euros. The prehistory and Roman times were very well done with some good artifacts and video displays. There are some nice Roman mosaics. Most exhibits are explained in both Spanish and English,...More

This museum offers a glimpse of Leon going back to Roman times. There are models of older towns/villas , interactive displays and a fair amount of "santiago" pieces given this town's history in the camino. Located on three floors not far from the Gaudi building...More

Worth the hour tour to see a building that A. Gaudi designed in Leon. The tour guide shows some of the unusual details that the architect included in the interior of the building, while making th exterior conform -mostly- to the other buildings which were...More

We started in the basement, and were advised to sit and listen in a room full of monoliths. As we did, we were presented with the idea of life as a passage of time, with only those markers to signify our having been there. Well...More

I'm a retired history museum professional. This museum is one of the best I've seen. Provides an interesting, lively, presentation of regional history in a simple way without simplifying a complex history. Beautifully illustrated by a great artifact collection. Covers pre-history to present. If coin...More

At only one Euro it is worth paying this museum a visit. It charts the history of León and the surrounding area through the ages by means of interesting exhibits and information boards in English and Spanish. If you are only going for the city...More
