I have really mixed feelings about this site. First, if you are Jewish, you have to go there to touch history. This is one of many towns in Europe where Jews used to live for centuries until they were killed or expelled. So I felt...More

Had great expectations as we have a keen interest in Jewish history but our enjoyment and ability to learn more was diminished by the lack of English labels on the displays. It also highlights how the centuries of the community in Toledo have been erased.

There is very little english translation so you only can get some much from your visit. But the great pray room is quite beautiful and they have a number of important artifacts. I was hoping to learn more about the history of the Jewish people...More

This historic building has been beautifully restored with modern presentations of artifacts and objects related to the history of the site. Most relate to the Jewish community in Toledo but other periods (Roman, Visigoth) are also represented. There is free wifi access to have explanations...More

Interesting artifacts, unfortunately no English labels of any kind (and no audio to rent.) Good maps showing historical migration through the peninsula and Europe, Sephardic clothing (recreated.) We visited the old synagogue first and were disappointed by an art exhibit behind that synagogue overseen by...More

The inside of the synagogue is really beautiful. The small museum with artifacts from the Jews in the last few centuries was interesting. One of the many places to see in this small medivial town. It is preserved quite well.

This a beautifully preserved synagogue with a good museum alongside it, filled with a treasure trove of information about the Jewish presence in Spain and more generally across Europe. There's a separate area on the first floor dedicated to women in the Spanish Sephardic community....More

El Transito Sinagoga is much more ornate than the Sinagoga de Maria la Blanca. It is more like the ornate work of the Alhambra. We had a private Jewish tour of Toledo. The history of Jews in Toledo is astounding. According to our guide, Romans...More

Worth seeing, from the old manuscripts to the impressive exhibits of life from hundreds of years ago. Note: free admission at the weekends—contact the local tourist office for days and times.
