We went to visit it because my wife watched the Neflix series and would like to visit the set.

This palace was built in order that the royal family install themselves free of charge during the summer months.
Once they did Santander experienced a big revival in the early 1900´s. So it did give the expected payback.

Unfortunately they did not offer any tours in English or French and would not let you tour without a tour and tours it seemed only happened on the hour. To bad looked like it would have been good to go through. Missed opportunity.
Magnificent palace situated in Santander within a park with many attractions. House only open on certain days.(Royal Residence). Lots for kids and adults alike. See sea lions/seals, ship replicas, open spaces, views over the sea, watch ferries arriving/departing, tea shop etc. Entrance free. Enjoy.
