Can’t Rate this Place Enough! Absolutely Amazing!
Firstly we bought a twin ticket for Siam Park & Loro Parque. Daughter is 5 & she got a free ticket but had to pay for her place on the coach. Coach picked us up from outside our hotel & the journey was one and a half hour each way - absolutely worth it. Arrived 10.30am. So upon arrival there was barely a queue so went through, got given a map of the park with show times listed & the park is so well sign posted everywhere. Although busyish this isn’t a one way Park so you get to all go your own way throughout the day, various show times available therefore there is no need for everyone to cram into the one show. We first came across the Seallion show. The Sealions seemed to be really enjoying themselves and interacting with the two men instructing the show. Nothing to pushy was done and then after it finished and people left the seating area the Sealions we’re swimming around looking happy and content noseying about. Then we went to the Orca show, we sat in the front block nearer to the water knowing we would get wet as my son wanted to sit here! We got drenched head to toe but was worth it - not many people can say they have been splashed by a killer whale so close up. The park is stunning & so thought through. There animals are scattered around the park and all have lovely home areas! As an animal lover I was worried about going and feeling upset after reading previous reviews but the animals are so looked after and all enclosures have running waterfalls & beautiful geeen areas. All the animals were worth seeing and the Aquarium was also a really enjoyable experience. Food and drink is priced as expected, to be honest nothing over the top. It’s only what Zoos’s/days out charge back in the UK. Longest we queued was just over 5 minutes the first time then after that we were just walking over to the bars for drinks & served straight away. Kids had a little play in the outdoor play area before heading back. Got the coach back to the hotel at 4:30pm & we just about saw everything minus the dolphin show & bird show. Your day is really jam packed as there is so much to see! You won’t be clock watching at all. I can not recommend this place enough.

    Very enjoyable
Really enjoyed our visit here. The shows are good but be aware the talks are about conservation and the animals not getting them to perform outside of their natural abilities. No cycling parrots if this is what you are looking for. A really interesting and enjoyable day in great surroundings. Cafes are very reasonably priced and everywhere is very clean and well looked after. Some of the bird enclosures would be nicer if they were bigger such as an aviary for all of them.

It really is the best zoo in the world
It really is the best zoo in the world! We had a fantastic day, the work they do here is amazing, all the animals appear to be very well looked after and cared for. Whilst i would be the first to disagree with the dolphins and the orca, they can not be released into the wild, they simply would not survive, they do however provide education that you cannot learn from a wall poster that most would walk past and ignore. They truly are wonderful animals and they are doing a fantastic job at educating the young and the unaware!
Hello, Thank you very much for taking the time to write about your experience at Loro Parque. We are pleased to know that you lived an incredible day! We hope that very soon you will be able to return to the best modern zoo in the world!

    No.1 zoo for a reason.
Not much you can say that hasn't already been said about Loro Parque. Well worth the €42. Good selection of animals in large enclosures, Orca, dolphin, sea lion and parrot shows are probably the highlight for most and whilst having captive animals performing tricks for our entertainment has probably had its day Loro Parque does a lot more good than bad for species across the planet. Probably the one "must do" whilst in Tenerife.

    Great park
This is just about the most well known tourist attraction of the island. Also, you see advertising for this place everywhere (which is a total waste of money as far as i'm concerned, the place sells itself well enough). We are staying in the south so we drove up there in a little over an hour. And it is worth it. Atmittance fees are high but frankly worth it. The park is very well maintained, clean and very nice. Lots of good shows and animals. Pity that some animals are still housed in small and oldfashioned cages. The rest is much much better.
Hello, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate it! And we are glad to hear you enjoyed your time at Loro Parque. However, concerning the cages, animals have a number of needs regarding the environment in order to survive. Wherever they find such conditions they convert this area into their home. Having a territory is not an individual desire of an animal, contrary to what happens to a human being. Animals simply need the resources of their territory to ensure their survival and reproduction; and that is why the dimensions of a territory vary within the same species. This is why in zoos, where food is provided to the animals, the areas can be much smaller without affecting the animals. I hope you understand. We hope to see you again!

    Lovely, big zoo
Huge zoo with a lot of stories how they saved some of the aninamals. Live show were amazing. The connection between the human and animal is indescribable. Buy the ticket online, you do not need wait the big queue then.

    Great day out
Booked a twin ticket with Siam Park on the front. Pick up was from hotel down the road from us and a few others. Went straight to the orca show which was great to see these amazing animals so close. Then we went to the aquarium and saw so many different types of jellyfish. Dolphin show Next which is one of my favourite shows to see didn’t disappoint. Then had a wonder round saw flamingos, lions, walk through bird cages. Watched the chimpanzees up-to no good then headed to the penguins. So many different types to see up close and a huge aquarium of fish at the end is spectacular. Went to see the gorilla then headed to the sea lion show. This was funny as the one sea lion wasn’t behaving. Kids had a play in the park and we went to see the white tiger. Had plenty of time to see everything and thought it was easy to get around. Toilets were always clean and easy to find.

    A full, great, day out.
When ever I go on holiday I always look for an animal park, zoo or aquarium to visit. I would say on average im dissapointed by the time you get to spend in them, especially aquariums, where you can be in and out in 30 minutes sometimes and rarely in over two hours, so after spending six hours at Loro Parque I was a very happy bunny. It is quite a large place and there are lots of steep inclines to go up, which does slow your pace a little, but there is plenty to see and the environment is nice to walk around, lots of greenery instead of stone. There are four shows to see, Sea Lions, Dolphins, Orcas and Parrots. Timed right you can see them all without having to either rush around or wait long periods with nothing to do. There are plenty of places to eat and drink as well and the prices are surprisingly good. The food quality is also nice and you caneither go to a place and order specific food or make use of their buffet restaurants. There is a free shuttle (a little ywllow electric cart train which is a nice trip) to and from the town center, or the bus is an easy option, its also in walking distance from most hotels in the local area, and yes, you can park in a car as well, if you must.
Hello, We are pleased to know that you enjoyed your day in Loro Parque. We work each day in order to not only exceed your expectations, also to comply with our seal of excellence which is responsible for the environment. We hope to see you again. Have a good day!

Best zoo experience ever. It’s a must for all of the family.
This is an amazing experience. I went with my wife and two children. All of the shows are fantastic, clean and well kept. To experience the Orca show was out of this world. What those animals can do are a credit to the trainers. Oh and if you sit too close then you might get a little wet. It has been my wife’s dream to see dolphins and the show that was displayed by them was fantastic. We wanted to watch it twice. They also have a great penguin display where in the uk you normally see a small number, Loro Parque has a dedicated building with moving floor to see it all. We travelled by coach from Los Cristianos, booked through Jet 2. Cost us €184 for travel and admission tickets, I would happily pay this again.

Plan full day. Take a map to follow times of the shows, they all are amazing and different. Dont miss the quieter areas - jungle park and bird houses, and medusa tanks. We could spend twice the time we were there.

We visited as part of a hotel excursion arriving a little after 10am and leaving at 5pm. This was plenty of time to get round the entire park and see the shows.

I’d say at least 50% of the park is birds however there are a large variety of animals, Penguins, Lions, Hippos, Dolphins, Tigers, to name a few, oh and of course the Orca’s!

The animals appear genuinely well looked after. Habitats are not the biggest but are well designed and have plenty of enrichment. It is clear to see why this park is rated #No1.

The Orca show runs 2 or 3 times a day as do the Dolphins. Birds shows are available throughout the day. There is a sea lion show however the enclosure was under maintenance and not accessible and shows were not running.

Ponchos are available for €3 as the Orca show will get you wet, seats are marked as to whether they are in the splash zone or not.

Food and drink is a little expensive as is the gift shops but this is expected.

All in all this was a great place to visit and I would highly recommend that if you are in Tenerife you visit.

Jumped on the free road train in town which was great fun to start. The whole place is fabulous, I never realised there were so many types of parrots!!. We caught a couple of the live shows which were awesome. They also do so much conservation which is very impressive. We live close to Marwell Zoo in UK and we found this to be just as good if not slightly better. Well worth the entrance fee and effort.

Everything was really up to scratch all the shows were entertaining and well put together, so many different things to see you can really spend the whole day their. The restaurant was a little expensive however the little kiosk for drinks and snacks was really cheap and made up for it as you can fill up on sangrias and rolls instead. We was staying in puerto de la cruz and they have a free train the comes every 20 minutes which is only about a ten minute journey so very useful. Would recommend getting the twin ticket with siam park to save money on both, all in all if you visit will definitely be one of the best day of your holiday

This is a great day out for all ages. There are lots of animals to see all of whom look healthy and happy. Very good viewing areas for all the main enclosures. On this visit I did not see any of the animal shows but the new coral exhibit was worth a look. Everyone is friendly I just wish you could have a no entrance photo choice when entering the park. Highly recommend

Very busy and popular attraction, however the sea lions show is cancelled for a few weeks due to "maintenance" but no reduction in ticket prices offered??? This is one of the big 4 attractions and as such I think a reduction is required from the 42 euro per person fee.
We still enjoyed our day and the food and drinks prices seem reasonable although long queues from at times.

A lovely zoo, but honestly other than the orca show and dolphin show (which are very short - but nevertheless still amazing!) it’s really a basic zoo. If you live in England - Chester zoo tops it hands down!

Food is basic and overpriced. A lot of walking to see the same animals in different enclosures.

As I said though the orca show and dolphin show are brilliant! The sea lions have been closed for refurbishment at the minute (June 2024)

We were sceptical at first about visiting because of the captivity of the killer whales and the dolphins, both of which we don't agree with. We decided to visit anyway and just chose not to view this part of the park.
It is a beautiful park with a great variety of animals all in very good enclosures. Some of the displays are very innovative like the penguins which are absolutely amazing. We have visited many many zoos and have never encountered anything as good as this. The gorillas were another highlight for us, again in a large enclosure.
We loved the whole feel of the park, set in tropical plants and trees. The aviary was stunning, it felt like we were in the Amazon rainforest and were able to see the birds in a very natural feeling environment and so close up too.
There are plenty of food outlets and places to sit, as would be expected, and the usual shops.
One point to mention, it seems that you can have repeat visits within a certain time frame (this is what it said on our tickets but unfortunately we were not made aware of this on purchase.) We would certainly have made a return visit during the week. Please check that this is indeed correct when purchasing your tickets as I would hate to give anyone any incorrect information. If this is indeed the case then it makes the very expensive entry fee well worth it.
We would not hesitate to recommend a visit to this wonderful park and are so glad that we did.
