It's a must seen location in the Island, however the permission booking company should inform people when the cable car is not in order, otherwise it's IMPOSSIBLE to hike all the way up and make it back on time for the last bus at 15.20-15.40!...More
During a recent trip to Tenerife we took a day trip to Mount Teide. The views were absolutely breathtaking and I would say it’s well worth a visit. My only criticism is the amount of people packed into the cable car.... we were squashed in...More

I strongly recommend to do the walk up. The view is unforgettable. You walk is always above the clouds and the nature is so interesting. It's very hard, especially for unprepared climbers. You will need good shoes, water and food supplies :keep in mind that...More
Third time up into Teide National Park every time I’ve been up there it amazes me.
From the moonscape to the larva flows.
The drive up through the clouds.
It’s all impressive.
I would love to see the stars at night up there.

We trekked to the summit before 9am so didn’t need a permit, otherwise I believe that you do, as they have to limit the number at the top (it’s a smaller space). If you really want to do it you can either hike up through the early morning and get to the top for sunrise (7.30am and lots of tour guides can help with this) or stay overnight in the refuge and again trek up for sunrise. That way you do not need a permit but do have to be down from the summit by 9am.
Hope that helps,
